Welcome to Philadelphia Hebrew Public

Philadelphia Hebrew Public Charter School’s mission is to inspire and prepare its diverse student body for advanced studies through a rigorous K-8 curriculum, instruction in Modern Hebrew, and the integration of global citizenship competencies.

Opened in 2009 in East falls Center, Philadelphia Hebrew Public Charter School serves as a model of how meaningful integration in public schools can boost academic outcomes and positively develop student skills and values. Students emerge as highly educated, globally aware, ethical citizens who are prepared with a foundation for success in high school, college, the workplace, and society.

“Global citizenship” education is a big part of the school’s focus. It includes the development of student skills in communication (including learning a world language), collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. It also includes an emphasis on empathy and emotional intelligence.

The Founders of Philadelphia Hebrew Public Charter School believe that students learn best when they are surrounded by clear, consistent systems of support, and when given opportunities to learn individually and together.

We are strong believers in personalized learning – ensuring that each and every child has the opportunity to grow academically and socially in ways that are tailored to their needs and learning styles. Our personalized approach to learning is enhanced by our small student-to-teacher ratios – transforming the classroom experience into one of genuine community which in turn promotes positive emotional development in each child.

Hebrew Public is a free, public charter school open to all age-eligible students residing in Philadelphia.
