Jelissa’s work in education is guided by a deep belief that education is a powerful vehicle for social justice and social and economic advancement. Prior to joining Hebrew Public, she served as a teacher and school leader and led school recruitment and strategic initiatives in education organizations serving communities across New York City, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania.
She believes that the single greatest lever in moving student outcomes forward is the teacher, and she is passionate about attracting, developing, and supporting strong, mission-aligned talent to ensure students thrive.
Jelissa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from New York University. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new places, reading, and singing in the car with her daughter.
