Morah Orna is an HLA Hebrew teacher for grades 5-8. She was born in Nir-Yaffe, a town in northern Israel where the first language she learned was French. Orna now speaks four languages, including Hebrew, Arabic and English!

In the third grade, Morah Orna had a supportive and loving teacher that inspired her to become a teacher herself. She explains, that although she was just in third grade, she felt her teacher’s dedication every single day and has been in the service of supporting children ever since.

At the age of 18, Orna served in the Army and Navy, in the capacity of monitoring and patrol. In Hebrew, this is known as, “Mokemet Chof, “watching the radio or special television” in Rosh Hanikra in the North. She helped to monitor and locate speed-boats that were approaching the shore.

Morah Orna has been working as a teacher for the last twenty years and has been working at HLA for the last six. One of the aspects of her job that she loves most is watching her students grow and learn a new language — Hebrew.

Orna is married, has two boys and five lovely grandchildren. She enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
