Day 3! Today our global citizens learned about Israel’s contribution to environmental sustainability. They went to an Israeli farm and picked vegetables and learned how the technology developed to grow veggies without much water in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way. The students got to see first-hand how drip irrigation, invented by Israeli researchers decades ago, is now helping to bring food to poor and water-deprived countries all over Africa and beyond.
Later, they had their first Israeli falafel in a town on Israel’s border. Then they will have the most unique overnight experience of the 10 days: sleeping in a Bedouin tent. They will ride camels and learn about one of Israel’s minority cultures and their traditions. Stay tuned!
