Preliminary program schedule

October 2016 volunteer session at Harlem Hebrew – read a book to a Kindergarten class, help students with class assignments.

November 2016 pre-Thanksgiving Day celebration at HLA in Brooklyn – help prepare sandwiches, distribute snacks and support K through 2nd grade in pre-holiday activities.

December 2016 holiday party at HLA – teach students about winter holidays – Chanukah, Christmas, Kwanza, New Year – by participating in a hands-on Sunday celebration in the school.  The job will be to come up with a “booth” related to one of the holidays, determine which activities to do with the students, and implement them.

January and February 2017 individual volunteer sessions in classrooms at HLA and Harlem Hebrew based on participants’ availability.

April 2017 volunteer at Hebrew Public’s annual Broadway benefit. Help set up the theater before the event, greet guests, pending theater’s approval – deliver welcoming remarks from the stage.

May 2017  help support Israel Day activities at HLA and Harlem Hebrew. Volunteer at the celebration activities (pending your school’s permission) and create activities for students to participate.  For example, create card games for students, stuff gift bags, create soundtracks of Israeli music.

June 2017 volunteer at HLA and Harlem Hebrew milestone celebrations: Kindergarten moving-up ceremony, awards ceremony, parents’ fundraising campaign drive.

September 2017 students’ Youth Service Program with Hebrew Public will culminate at our annual Autumnfest in Bedford, N.Y.  Participants will form a committee and will be responsible for inviting friends and families to join the event.
